Hi!  I'm Sejal.  This is my personal journal. Sometimes I’m good about writing. Sometimes I’m not.

She's 7!

She's 7!

Here we are, the Tuesday after Ruby’s birthday weekend. We somehow managed to have another year of multiple celebrations! I don’t know how this keeps happening but I guess we just can’t help it….and Ruby just makes it so fun! This year though, she did have a hard time thinking of a birthday theme and was contemplating not having a huge party (with ALL her classmates). Then on a random September morning, Taylor Swift announced her concert movie was premiering on Friday October 13th….and I I jumped on that - buying a bunch of tickets for her and some besties.

Fast forward to her actual Birthday weekend - before we even get to TSwift, Ruby got to celebrate in school with doughnuts for all….and a pink sparkly outfit Rebeca bought just for her School Birthday! Edward and I went in to read to the class and hang with the kiddos. She was so proud to have us there - it was really nice. :) Then in typical fashion, Rebeca planned an over the top, Barbie themed surprise party which we escorted her to. Ruby was so happy and excited to have her friends over - it was so thoughtful and Rebeca and Alma really went all out with the decor - pink, gold and sparkles everywhere with a Barbie box photo prop for pictures!

Then it was the big day. Ruby woke up squealing with excitement that she was finally 7!….and opened her presents in maybe 15 minutes. She LOVED the big present which was a Nintendo Switch - we even got to experience it live since Edward hooked it all up earlier in the week AND then we wrapped it. He also set her up with 6 controllers so she can have some serious Just Dance competition with her friends. She’s already kicking my ass. As far as presents, I focused on her Taylor swift outfit - a lavender crystal mesh dress, silver cowboy boots, fur jacket, purple/lavender sequin purse, and blinged out glasses. Thankfully she loved it all!

I feel like we were all excited about the Taylor Swift movie. All the girls dressed up. Even Mom and Dad did! And I filled their goodie bags with the cutest kid sized friendship bracelets, other Swiftie stuff, and candy. The movie was amazing! Though it was a long show, so there were some little girl moods. Ruby even took a little disco nap early on but then was singing and dancing in full force. It was a super fun and special day - I’m so glad it all worked out….and perfect timing that it premiered on her Birthday weekend! I’m just happy that Ruby felt special and loved….and had fun. I mean it was all her favorite things - friends, dressing up, music, singing, and dancing! What a way to bring 7 in. Love you my sparkly star.
