Hi!  I'm Sejal.  This is my personal journal. Sometimes I’m good about writing. Sometimes I’m not.

Ruby is 6!

Ruby is 6!

Another year, another birthday, another party weekend! Sweet Ruby is 6 and it feels like we’ve been celebrating for days! Her birthday fell on a Friday this year so we opened presents right when she woke up (my favorite thing ever!). After we sang Happy Birthday she gave US a toast - thanking us for this wonderful birthday, wishing for us and her to have a great day, hoping all her birthdays were like this and after I was able to muster up something like “I hope you get everything you want and more this year” she responded with “I already have everything I ever wanted”. I mean full on crying for me before 8am. Is this girl for real? I just can’t. To say I’ve been overly emotional is an understatement. I just love her so much and sometimes I can not believe her emotional maturity.

Then after school Rebeca surprised her with a Descendants theme birthday party for the books. Ruby may have suspected something was happening but didn’t mention it and as she walked into the surprise party went straight to Nana with the biggest hug ever. It was the sweetest thing. Rebeca went all out - a beautiful balloon arch, perfectly decorated purple and black table setting even with “champagne” flutes for toasting! Ruby was super happy - all her friends hanging at her house, swimming and dancing - it was so great to see and so thankful for Rebeca to do this for her.

And then we had her 2nd party! As usual we’ve been planning it for months. Ruby wanted to have it at Sophie’s Dance (her favorite place besides home). Her theme this year was Rainbow High so of course it was all set up in Rainbow colors (plus gold for a little more fancy!). She wanted a braid bar - but not just any old braid bar - it had to be Tangled Braid Bar and man were they a hit! This was a full on glam team - I think there was a team of 10 there that did all the kids hair with colored extensions/braids and a little extra added glam/makeup. The Sophie’s dance teachers (Ms. Rachel and Ms. Grace) also taught the kids a special dance to Malibu Dreamin (Ruby’s pick) so they could perform for us. It was so much fun! - There was lots of music, lots of dancing, lots of glam, even a candy filled rainbow cake (minus the flowing candy waterfall haha). But most importantly I think Ruby felt special and loved. She was so happy and I think her friends had fun too! Weekends like this I will remember forever - seeing Ruby in her element, doing all the things she loves to do with her favorite people.

Happy Birthday my sweet Ruby - I loved every second of celebrating with you. I love you so much - Mama
