Not so little Ruby

Little Ruby started Kindergarten this month. I’m not as emotional as I thought I would be but maybe it’s because we’ve all been so excited and just ready to be back. Haha. I mean it’s been an amazing summer but it’s also been a long summer and I think we all needed a change of scenery or maybe just a change in people. That said, I have definitely been majorly obsessed with her lately. She’s actually fun to hang out with now and sometimes we can even have real conversations - it’s like I made the perfect bestie!

She now has to do everything her way including styling herself, so this year I couldn’t just pick out the outfits I “wanted” her to wear. So I let her pick out 4 new school outfits (which I thought were super cute and edgy at the same time), her lunch box and backpack….she let me dress them up with decals (that later fell off in a week despite them being hot glued on which then I had to sew back on because she was devastated). It all worked out in the end - she got to look “cool” by pairing her girly pink things with black boots and I still got to sneak in some of those girly pink things….

And here we are already into October and getting ready for birthday season. Can’t wait to see where this year goes! :)
