Be the one that decides to GO FOR IT.

It’s been awhile. Covid happened and then the world turned upside down. It feels like life is slowly getting back to normal but who really knows. For many reasons, the Covid quarantine/lockdown/jail let me justify putting my life on hold….yet again. I mean yes parts of it were put on hold, but there was still a part of me that justified putting it on hold because “I didn’t know what would happen to Ruby’s school” and “Now isn’t the best time to go back to work”, and “You know the world is so uncertain now, just ride it out”, etc, etc. And so I didn’t really make any changes. And it was fine-ish. But it really wasn’t. It felt like I wasn’t going anywhere. I mean I literally wasn’t but it wasn’t fun.

Anyway, fast forward to now and things look a lot different. Ruby’s been in school full time, we bought a house - and are in the middle of a major renovation, and I’m back at work. Some days I feel crazed but I am managing it surprisingly ok. And overall I’m WAY happier - it feels good. It’s easy to think, “Why didn’t I do this sooner”? But the reality is, things do kind of happen at the right time or better yet, things happen when you’re ready. Because almost always it’s your decision to do (or not do something).

So last Saturday in SoulCycle, when David said to “Be the one that decides to Go For It” it really hit me hard. How simple. But so powerful. On so many levels. Be the one that decides to go for that job, says yes to the scary thing, says sorry first, says I love you first, walks away when it’s hard, moves to a new country, takes the leap of faith, and on and on. So I decided that would be my 2021 mantra. To be the one that decides to Go For It. Eeek it’s scary but why not, what do I have to lose really? After 2020, you just gotta go all in. :)
