Hi!  I'm Sejal.  This is my personal journal. Sometimes I’m good about writing. Sometimes I’m not.

Ok that was cheesy but I couldn't help myself.  It's just too perfect.  In case you didn't know, Aug 21 was the Solar Eclipse.  Apparently it's the only one I'll see in my lifetime.  We were originally going to see the Eclipse in Canon Beach, Oregon which is about 2 hours from Portland.  Edward's mom had planned a vacation for the whole family over a year ago.  Honestly, I barely even knew what an Eclipse was back then.  Anyway, about a week before the trip, she started to rethink the trip since it was going to be insane with all the Eclipse traffic.  I was already nervous as it was Ruby's first trip so when we decided to cancel the Canon Beach trip I was relieved.  Instead, Edward, Ruby, and I went to Seattle on our first Family Trip!!

Since I'm a planner I already bought everything I could think of for Ruby's first trip but was still anxious because I really had no idea what to expect.  I asked a bunch of moms and read every article I could get my hands on with strategies on how to travel with little ones.  But I was still confused and kept second guessing myself.  But it didn't matter because she did amazing!  I'm so proud of her - and us!  Yay!  Maybe we got lucky or Ruby is just perfect but either way, I'll take it.  :)

This was the first time the whole family was getting together since Ruby was born and she hadn't met 2 of Edward's siblings and their families so everyone was excited!  The weekend was pretty chill and centered around eating, swimming, eclipsing, and taking turns playing with sweet little Ruby!  She loved meeting everyone and seemed to like being the center of attention which didn't surprise us as we've been noticing this in her personality lately.

The eclipse was cool, but the best part of the weekend was watching Ruby with her older cousins Leo, Sahale, and Griffin - she genuinely loved being around them.  It was like she was already watching their every move and trying to be like them.  Seriously my heart just melted watching her with them.  It reminded me how great time with family can be for little ones (and for us too!) Honestly we were a little sad to leave....but the holidays are just around the corner....  xoxo
